ULTIMATIUM

In early days, Ultimatium was a solo project of Matti Pulkkinen for purpose of finding a proper band to play in. In two first demos, Ultimatium featured bunch of vocalists. On third demo, Harri Niskanen and JT Partanen joined the crew with Tuomo Juntunen to make the band a proper band instead of just a solo project.

That led to a recording agreement with Mastervox Records, with Harri Niskanen plying the drums on the first full lenght, New Dawn.

After that, Petteri Moilanen played drums in Ultimatium for a while to get couple of gigs done. Before recording of second album took place, vocalist JT Partanen was replaced by current vocalist Tomi Viiltola (ex-Dreamtale) and drummer Toni Qvick sat behind the drums. After playing few succesfull shows, Tuomo Juntunen left the band and for a while Ultimatium was without bassist.

Soon after Mikko Hepo-Oja (Catamenia) joined the band for the duration of “Hold your ground”-demo and a gig as well as Sauli Jauhiainen to play 2nd guitar.

After “Hold your ground”-release, Toni Qvick, Mikko Hepo-Oja and Sauli Jauhiainen left the band, but the core of Ultimatium, Matti Pulkkinen, Harri Niskanen and Tomi Viiltola kept on going. Material for the third album got another polishing round and Matti Auerkallio and Juha Haipus agreed to play for the third album as sessions members.

Since they both did absolutely fantastic job, no other option remained but to as them to join the band, and so it was good. Recordings of the Vis Vires Infinitus ended around fall of 2014, during the album rcordings, record label contacts were already made, but no good enough contract was offered.

At the end of 2014, Underground Symphony. With the release of digital single Never Tell in March 2015, Ultimatium is back in business with Vis Vires Infinitus, released 15th of June.
